The housing market is extremely tight in my city, too, for both renters and buyers. I'm lucky. I'm renting a small apartment from a private landlord that has been a close friend for more than 20 years. I felt like I won the lottery when she told me it was about to be vacant and asked if I wanted to take it.
From her perspective, she's tired of problematic renters. She knows I'll respect her property since she's known me for so long and we were even roommates for a while. So, I guess we're both fortunate.
But as for me buying a house? That's not going to happen in this city. Way to expensive! |
