I like my wfh 'office' job. Means I won't tear up my body more than it already is

Working for myself as an independent contractor - I get to set rates and include Car wear and tear and mileage.

People will pay to have someone knowledgeable and dependable.

It's been 20 years of working hard and learning.

I've got goals and dreams that I hope to someday reach. But content with what I have currently.

I had to make a hard decision- to either quit my job and just do part time at the barn, or continue with the school.
Unfortunately- even with our dual income it just would not be a wise decision.

Yeah none of those would work. I am not looking to make huge bucks- I do not with the job I have now. But at the end of the day I do have to pay my bills, which can be really costly at times, and I have to pay for gas to get there and back everyday. 10$ an hour is my normal rate of pay. Our min wage is higher- but because it is a farm they can pay less.

It is never easy - I've got friends in the corporate world who sit on offices and go to meetings and send a million emails a day, and make a ton of money.

But I can't. I would die. My soul would shrivel up.

I've worked at barns making pennies an hour.

Now I work a couple hours but it's all my way. I run the barn and pretty much tell the owner what needs to be done (usually after I've done it).
I also have a decent pet sitting gig - where I get to hang out with a bunch of different animals, and even do training services.

I'm a show groom for one nice lady and that's a fun job. I'm her Show Mom - but she's 40 years my senior

I wish I could work with animals full time. But vet med is NOT for me. And the barn could offer me more hours, but not enough to justify driving 40 minutes one way to get there.

Amen to that boulder. I have always done better with animals than people.

The animals in my care all know what manners are and what's expected of them.
The cat and I are sitting on the front porch, and he knows he's not allowed off or he will be sent inside.

I find socializing and with animals easier - they say what they mean. And get over it. For the most part.

It's humans that are multi-faced and have agendas

When my horse takes a dump when weÂ’re on a ride, I just scrape it onto the side of the road. That way it will help the grass grow 😂

There was a whole uproar on social media because of trail riders leaving horse manure on the road. And how if dog people can't do it why can horse people.
Umm because hay and grass are so much less gross than dog and cat 💩

I also am a stable hand- but is very very part time right now. But that will never be my main job, not much stability there and the money made is poor.

I like my job. I have worked in childcare for 6 years now. Different centers, but the one I am at now is the best.
I worked at an animal shelter for a couple months between my first and second centers. That was a nightmare

I'm not the biggest fan of dealing with human waste, but I'm getting used to it.

If St. Patrick had a horse, it would have been Viserys Brynju (PPP) .
Here he is helping to drive all the snakes from Ireland with the assistance of a few native Kestrels.
