What happens when a stallion that has lost all faith in himself and his self worth runs into a family of struggling horses in the very wilderness he had sentenced himself to a life of solitude within?
.
I will edit this and make it cute as we move along since we really didn't have a plot and Si hasn't joined us quite yet with her own character.

Name: Teo
Gender: Stallion
Height: 18 Hands
Appearance: As handsome as he is tall, Teo sports a very unique and flashy coat. Genetically, he is an overo gray with light brindle markings, but he also possesses a black pattern across his hindquarters, down both rear legs, and on his left shoulder all the way down to the hoof. His mane and tail are both two toned and grow incredibly long and thick with a slight natural curl. His eyes are icy blue and his dark head is broken by a white badger face marking.
His build is almost draft like. He exhibits a wide chest, thick, strong legs, and hips for days. From his constant traveling across different terrain on a regular basis, he has incredible muscle in his neck, shoulders, topline, and hind quarters. With the mention of being a mixture of draft somewhere down the line, it can be easily assumed that he is a very easy keeper, able to survive for quite a while longer than most, even while on a diet of less nutritious food items.
Personality: Always kind and forever willing to give others another chance, Teo possesses a deep respect for life and freedom and often is reluctant to choose violence as a means to solve conflicts throughout his life. He can be jealous and stubborn somethines, even (though rarely) saying or acting on things without a thorough thought through first. One of his flaws is that he is predisposed to running away and avoiding his problems while refusing to accept the real emotional tole that it has taken on him. His natal role was bestowned onto him against his will and it took shape in his life as a threat towards his very way of life and everything he knew at the time. He was expected to be this 'larger than life' hero who was destined and willing to do anything at all costs to end a rivalry older than himself, but it wasn't that simple for him. Not only does he not want to be a hero, he doesn't think of himself as one. However, running away from this very responsibility led to the murder of his entire bloodline and his way of life. Teo only sees himself as someone who already deeply failed those he was suppsoed to protect more than once. Teo is not characterized as someone who cares about being powerful or wants a monumentally heroic life- he just wants to be a normal stallion and stay away from everyone so he can no longer cause harm and heartbreak.

Entry Story To Yuka: (sorry that it's long XD)
Age: 5yr old, Mare

It had been months since Yuka and her family had left their one true home of the southern swamped region. A longing saddness tugged everyday in her heart since that brutal night.. her mother had grown so very ill, her father grew more blank and lifeless the closer to death her mother got. Her two older sisters in a fit, always acting stuck up and bickering between one another trying to get their Father to grow a pair, but yet he grew distant from them all. He had barely spoken to any of his daughters as his mate passed one cold night. All of them where heartbroken, Tara, the middlest daughter wept the most. Yuni the eldest spent most of her time angry and speaking down to their father as if he was nothing more than garbage. Yet, he didnt seem to care. Slender audits grew tired of listening to her sisters bickering and cries. It was that or the awkward silence between them all... Yuka couldn't decide if it was a blessing or not.

She knew Yuni held anger and resentment of their father for not trying to find help for their mother, or to find a save heaven for us all after their mother passed. It wasn't long before a stronger stud and his gang of brutes came mozzing around and had it out for their father. Causing trouble, trying to make deals and persuade their father to send off Yuni with him as the bachelors tried their best to get their sweet nips ahold of Tara and Yuka. Wasn't long that stud got smart and tried to force Yuni away with him one night, this band of bachelors trying to steel Yuka and the other sister away as well. Awful, that it took the almost losing of his three daughters for the stud to snap out of his stenching grief and fight to keep them from being taken. It was a horrible fight... more blood then Yuka cared to remember. The thundering of hooves, cracking of bones and eerie screams. Nothing was left after the fight but their father beaten and brusied and now with a bad leg. The stud sworn he'd come back for the taking of the eldest sister. It was then Yuka new that they would forever be in bad shape...

The winter was hard, they barely could find anything to eat. Their father grew more lifeless with each passing day, after the fight which seemed to kill the last of his spirits seemed to die a little each day. He didn't have a care in the world anymore. All he did was lay around and stare into oblivion. Very rarely would he speak or even look at us. He only seemed to force a small smile when Tara could lay next to him and comfort him. As Yuni groaned about how hungry she was... they were all hungry. Yet, it was always left to Yuka to go out in search for food. Knowing her other sisters were to preppy and spoiled to even try to do anything that was considered "hard work" or contained effort. They were all skinned nearly to the bone. The harsh winter winds scraping against their coarts like barbed wire, frozen to the core laying on hard stone as Yuka found and led them to a cave.

She remember looking at herself once and could count all her ribs that shown through her once bright and healthy silvery pelt. Her stomach screamed out at her in agnoy as if it was ripping its way out of her from the inside. They not had any luck finding grass let alone any twigs in several days. Blue hues settled over her poor little family, surely they would die if they didn't try to find an escape somewhere warmer, though they been traveling for many, many miles already in the snowy terrian. She sighed, looking at her father whom could barely walk, it was like the grim reaper would take him and her sisters away at any moment. She tried to paint the image of them, how they used to look.

Her father, used to be dark as ever, the kind of grullo color that almost seemed chocolate like when the sun rays would hit his pelt. His thick sandy colored mane and soft brown hues... the eldest sister, Yuni, no matter how big of a pain she was used to be such a sight for eyes, a slender and well built grullo of shades of dark greyish black legs and muzzle, grey mane and harsh brown eyes with a star on her forehead as sassy as she was, she could be sweet. Then Tara, the most kindest soul Yuka had ever known, soft spoken and very sensitive that one. She was a deep blue roan like their mother, with thick glossy black mane, it was so black it was almost a deep purple when she used to dance in the waters of the swamp. Then there was Yuka, though she too had a raidant coat of a grullo with roan kisses, strong black legs, silvery sandy mane and blue hues.. she never thought of herself that pretty. She knew she had to find a way to protect her family, a herd perhaps?..find food for them, anything.. it was a promise she made to her dying mother. Closing her eyes at the thought made her throat fill like it was swelling up, picturing her sick mother.. she let out a soft sigh as she drifted back to reality of the cold cave they now huddled in.

"What are you doing just sitting there for, do something! You can't mope the rest of your life" Yuni's hissing echoed in the dark cave. Yuka had turned to see her older sister yelling at their father, who in return turned his gaze away from her. "UGGHHH" Yuni screamed as a hoof crashed against the stone. "Don't be too hard on him sister" Tara cooed with her ears pinned in sorrow, she hated when Yuni spoke to their father like that, as she nuzzled his neck. "Useless" Yuni spat and staggered away with a roll of her eyes.

As much as it pained the regret already, Yuka forced herself over to Yuni, whom was looking out the cave enterance, her plumage swatting like fire in hell. "Tara is right, don't be so hard on him, we all have had it bad lately" Yuka sighed as she came to her sisters side. Daggered orbs glared her way, but Yuka chose to ignore it, she was tired of always fighting. "Huumm" grunted Yuni "Well, he's a stallion, he should be looking out for us, but look at us all wasted away in this stupid cave with nothing to eat, no warmth! Look at me!!!" She groaned. "How will any handsome suitor look my way now!" She welled. Pinning her ears, Yuka shot Yuni a disguised look "A suitor!? Are you seriously thinking about a stud and your looks in the state we are in!?" Shaking her head in disappointment. "You'll be fine when spring comes" Yuka snorted. 'if we make it through this winter' she thought. Audits flicked as she heard her sister snort in a laugh "I'm sorry sister but why not think of a suitor!? Anyone to take me far from here where I can actually get away from all you ill peasants" she spat. Tara's audits flicked "Hey! we aren't peasants" Yuni scoffed "well... we always were in good hands, fully fed, if anything it's his fault" she hissed once more her orbs floating hatefully at their father. Whom let out a quiet word "sorry". Yuni scoffed again, turning her attention back to the enterance of the cave. "Should of went with that stud and his band" she whispered under her breathe.

A heat seemed to burn up inside of Yuka "Yuni Stop!" She spat. Audits laying flat " Going with that moster would not had been a good choice and you know it!" Yuni laughed "Ohhh sorry goodey goodey, are you upset that stud was more interested in me than you? I mean look at you." her harsh words lashed on thick. Yuka pinned her ears "As if I need or want any stud telling me what to do" Yuka spat, her plumage thrashed behind her. Knowing her sister called her ugly and she didn't really diagree with her either. Yuka knew she was nothing special to be goaked about. Yuni softly smirked getting a bit of rise from her sister.

"Besides if father was a true stud, and grew a pair we wouldnt be in this mess" Yuni flared her nostrils. Cries from Tara started whom sobbed queitly at the fighting. Blue hues dashed to Tara and then back to Yuni, Yuka groaned with furrowed brows "Ah. See what you did now!? I am so sick of you and your whining! Not like you have helped out at all! I am the one always going out to find us shelter, Im the one trying to find any source of food or water for us! I dont see you getting your hooves dirty and you know father has a limp!" Yuni rolled her eyes "As if I care, if your so good then why do you stick around!?" Yuni scoffed. Rage started to fuel inside like boiling water about to bust, nostrils flared "Maybe I shouldn't!" Yuka hissed. Yuni grinned " Good! Go! We dont need you!" "No.. dont go Yuka" Tara squeaked with tears rolling down her face. "As if you could survive without me! You wont even let dirt anywhere near your precious pelt" Yuka mocked. Yuni wrinkled her muzzle as if she was smelling the stinch of rotting flesh "Least I'm not ugly!" She spat. It was like a slap to the face. Yuka swallowed hard, feeling a lump in her throat. She wanted to react, wanted to put her sister in check but she didnt. She held very bit of anger chopping at the bit to try and escape her lips and control her actions. Letting out a deep sigh, she forced herself to be calm, pulling her eyes away from her sister. She could feel Yuni smiling in her victory. "I'm going to try and find us something to eat..." 'or help' she thought as she paced to exit the cave. "Wait, don't go Yuka! It's bad our there!" Tara called as she quickly stood up. "Yuni didnt mean it! Say your sorry Yuni!" Tara pleeded but Yuni huffed as she paced back deeper into the cave. Without another word or look at her family... Yuka set out into the night of yet another winter storm.

Entry story to Teo

18 Hand, 7 Year Old Stallion - Overo Brindle Gray/Black Chimera

Teo had been born into a herd that had suffered a drought of male offspring, so needless to say, from the moment of his arrival, his herd's future had already been put on his tiny shoulders. Teo had many older sisters that all grew to hold a grudge towards him. Teo was the one who was treated as if he was "special," his father spent far much more time with him, trying to instill their ways of life and leadership into him at a very early age. Fortunately for Teo, he was gifted a kind and extremely forgiving personality so he never held ill feelings towards his siblings. Actually despite it, he was a very happy colt. At first, all the learning and practicing was fun when it was "play," but as Teo grew older, his sire began to get harder on him, giving him the burdens of caring for a herd. This herd's territory butted up to their rival's. Their lead stallion was younger and was hungry for more land and mares. He was rather violent and his advances towards Teo's father were getting more bold as the years went on. The stud colt had been shielded from this part of "his duties" as a colt but as he turned 3, his father had expected him to fight alongside him. He was now taller and stronger than him, so he was expected to take the bulk of the attack. His father devised a plan to lead an ambush on the rival stud and put this war to rest. However, Teo possessed a deep respect for life and freedom and often was very reluctant to choose violence in any circumstance, so what his sire was asking him to do was to go against his own way of life. As the day of this plan grew closer and closer, Teo began to panic. He had pleaded with the older stallion to change his mind, but his efforts were futile. Without even thinking, the night before, Teo took off into the night and ran from his homelands. In his head, he had convinced himself that if he wasn't there, his father wouldn't launch an attack and everything would turn out alright. He was a dreamer, could you really fault him?

What was only supposed to have been a brief trip away from the herd to allow his sire's anger to subside from him ditching the attack, became quite longer when Teo realized he had gotten himself lost. After crossing many miles of terrain, the young stud finally came across a smaller herd in the mountains. Unlike most, this stallion provided generosity, leading the young Teo to food and water. Around the same time, he had also allowed a few other colts that had been in a band together to join. For the first time in his life, Teo had brothers who included him in the childish games they would play. It was almost like a little piece of his childhood was given back to him. Teo also took a liking to the lead stallion and helped him to guard the mares. His background had really come in handy when helping search for food or solving conflicts amongst them. After a few months he even protected him from the unfair/malicious advances of younger stallions, including the colts he had grown to care for as brothers. It was saddening, but he knew he had to protect the whole. Plus, he had grown to see this lead stallion as a father figure. They shared many peaceful views and he learned so much from him. Still, he did miss his father greatly. He hoped that his birth herd was still in his capable hands (hooves?). In the end, Teo was allowed to stay and become a part of the herd.

Over the next few years, Teo took a mate with the lead stallion's blessing and had a foal. Unfortunately, there was a wild fire and it completely destroyed everything. Teo did his absolute best to help as many of the horses out of the flames as he could, but in the process, he was injured to the severity he had to seek safety and lay up a few days before he could even manage the strength to get up and look for his family. After days of searching, discovering so many bodies, he was forced to leave alone, hs entire world shattered.

After this tragedy, Teo tried to return to his natal herd but ended up discovering that the herd was gone not long after he had left. Farmers ambushed the herd with guns after they were "too close" to their farmland. The herd hadn't moved for generations! However, what horses survived that attack were then picked off by the rivaling herd. His father was lost to his enemy trying to defend his family. With so much guilt of his many failures, Teo disappeared once more into the wilderness. He had failed his birth herd and then the family he had created with his beloved mate. He spent the next years in a sentence of solitude he had condemned himself to. He was a coward, too weak to take care of another life, so he was going to make sure he never did again.

This winter had been a harsh one, to say the least. Teo had done is best to keep himself to weight by scavanging anything he could. Normally, he would have migrated in the fall from the cooler mountains down to the coast for an easier winter, but the storms had started earlier this year and he'd found himself practically snowed in for weeks at a time. Luckily for him, the Juniper trees that claimed the woodlands of the peaks offered a supply of bark that at least kept something in his belly. When the winds had settled down at times, he would venture out from his shelters and dig through the snow for roots or dormant foliage that too, was trying to survive this wonderland.

Tonight's storm was particularly nasty. Teo had settled into one of the small caves that were created by the rocky terrain up higher on the mountain side. This one appeared to at one time have been a den for someone; a bear or cat perhaps, but by the lack of scent markings, he easily determined that it had been abandoned for quite a while. The dark stallion lied in an old, worn pile of picked grasses, obviously that had once been a fluffed bed at one time for whoever lived in the cave. He contently raked his teeth against his pelt preening what very little dirt accumulated on him - one good thing about there only being snow all around.

That night was one of the coldest that Yuka had ever endured. She wasn't sure if she would ever make it till morning. She could feel her aching bones numbing with pain with every step as she trudged through the thick snow. It was hard and blanketed with ice as it cut her pelted knees like butter, teeth bared back as she kept her head low as the gusted snowy wind was blinding her vision. Audits layed back flat to keep them from the bleeding sounds of the eerie harsh wind. Blue hues glancing down, she was surely loosing more hope by the minute, oh how she prayed for spring to come. Knowing it would only be a few more days, oh how she hoped. To feel the warm of the sun against her back, to feel the soft velvet grass dancing around her hooves, to feel the wet yet coldly refreshing waters tickle her lips and dance happily into her belly. To smell the wild flowers once more, to see them dancing lightly in the breeze, to taste the sweet grass or a orchid apples once more upon her tongue. She could almost taste it.

Popping her frame up as the sharp winds beat against her neck making her horrid tangled dry mane smack her face shook the poor moulnourished mare from her day dreaming. Letting out a soft cry, she pressed onwards she needed to find shelter, anything to get out of this storm. She began to wonder if she should have taken her sister's begging to stay but it was too late for that now...

Moments passed as she soon seen a cluster of dark shadows peeking out to play from the snowy winds. 'Trees!?' She hoped as she made herself move a bit faster. She body screaming at her to stop but on she forced, she panted heavily barely able to feel her lips. Snow clung to her mane and plumage like icy crystals as she soon reached the trees. They were skin and bare, but at least it was something. The young mare, heaved a blow, trying to catch her raspy breathe and calm her pounding heart, she felt like her ribs would break if she darned heaved another blow. Exhausted and hungry, she felt her knees give out from underher as her bonned body hit the snowy grounds with a hard thud. Such pain coarsed through her body as she bared her teeth, wincing. Slowly curling her legs into her body as her back rested against the cold hard bark of the trees. Looking up at them, she sighed. Perhaps she would have the strength tomorrow to make it back to her family... blue hues danced at the trees hoping for any signs of bark on them but unfortunately there was none. Oh she hated returning home empty handed, the pain it gave her to see her sisters quietly judging her for it. Closing her hues as she rested her head on her knees, she prayed tomorrow she'd be able to see, she prayed she wasn't too far from home... as exhaustion quickly pulled her into a deep sleep, audits softly listening to the howling wind as snow kept falling all around her.

Teo rested quietly in the cave. Without the snow and wind, the small room was rather warm. His eyes fluttered, half open as his subconscious teased pulling him off to sleep. Though he looked peaceful, his mind was constantly churning with dark thoughts. He replayed past scenarios, imagining if he had done just one thing differently, his life would be so much different than how it was now. His heart was heavy as he lied there in the cave. Tears threatened to break from his glass blue orbs, but alone in the cave, he didn't fight them back. He deserved this sadness; this regret. It was all his fault. Every decision he had made up to this point had been wrong, and everyone else was paying the price for his mistakes. He sucked in a deep breath and squeezed his eyes shut.
.
The wind had died down for just a second, long enough for a padded thud to echo off the walls of the cave. Teo snapped out of his thoughts and turned his attention to the entrance of the cave. He pulled his massive frame up to all fours and gave it a good shake, only small clippings of grass drifted calmly to the ground. Teo stepped silently towards the mouth of the cave and paused just to where he could get a good view of his surroundings. "Hello?" He called out calmly after he couldn't spot anything standing out. Who would be out in a storm like this? The wind was beginning to pick up again and his visibility was blurred through the falling snow. It would be difficult to spot anything in this. Part of him wanted to just go back in and chalk it up to a limb falling under the weight of the snow, but the other part pulled at him to search around. His features frowned as he fought with himself. He didn't need to be around anyone, that was the point of being out here. But also, if someone else was stuck out here and he did nothing, then that would be another he allowed to die right under his nose.
.
As always, his heart won out and with a growl underneath his breath, He stepped outside the comforts of the cave and faced the storm head on. The wind whipped his plumage around in a chaoic manner, wrapping itself around his body as we walked around. His first thought was to head for the trees to at least get some type of relief from the wind's direct force. He at least stood a better chance at spotting someone in that case.

The malnourished mare was in a deep sleep, almost so deep one would think she was in a coma or dead. Her thin body seemed to almost become one with the snow. Little nostrils flaring weakly with each slumbering breathe. It was amazing how she was able to even fall alseep in the cold like this. Her ice covered withers shaking from the wind subconsciously. The night had started to become more quiet. The wind had died down some, but snow was still coming down. It looked as if the sun would never come back out to show it's warming rays. How long had she been asleep? Hours? Minutes? Who knew.. i think some parts of her knew she was nearing death out in weather like this. All seemed still until the skinny mares frame popped up from a horrible dream..oh losing her family, never to see her father or sisters again. Panicking as she weezed out a struggling blow of breathe and looked around. Still nothing but darkness and snow clouding her vision. Letting out a sigh, audits pinned shamefully for how she didn't mind she was alone but wondering if her family even cared that she had gone, or how worried they must be for her not to of even come back yet. What time was it? she wondered... how long has she been asleep. She began to shiver feeling the chill around her once more. Softly she rubbed her muzzle on her shoulder trying to aloom some heat for herself.

An audit flicked, *crunch, crunch, crunch*. Her frame popped towards the sound. 'What as that!' She frantically began to wonder. Was it a wolf coming to claim her basically weak and dying carcass? Audits softly pinned, fear began to rise up in her body, she tried to slow and quiet her breathing, her heart began to pound so faster she hoped whatever was out there didn't hear it. She was shaking but knew it was smart not to make a sound. *crunch, crunch, crunch* the steps were getting closer. She wanted to run to flee but knew she was too weak to stand up fast, let alone run. She closed her eyes tight hoping whatever the creature was would pass...

Teo felt as though he had looked over every part of the forest surrounding the cave, but his search had turned up nothing. He called out once more, a deep raspy cry that could be heard over the high pitched howls of the wind. "Is anyone out there?" He hollered once again and then groaned to himself. Snow piled on top of his back but luckily his thick insulated coat kept it from melting and covering him in a wet blanket. His plumage was weighed down too heavy by ice to even move about in the wind. He frowned at the thought of himself, looking so foolish. He looked like the abominable snowman stomping around out here! The dark stallion was just about to call it and make his way back towards the cave when he kept having this gut feeling telling him not to go back just yet. Again, he looked around and saw nothing. No one answered his call. He decided to grab a few pieces of bark from the juniper trees he walk passing by before returning. He pushed up off of the ground, resting his fore-hooves on the trunk of the baren tree as he extended out his next to reach the bark that was too high for most horses. The snow that had accumulated on his back slid right off with a soft thud from the height of the fall. The one good time his height had come in handy! With his teeth gently raking at the flakey, unattatched portions, he pulled multiple pieces down and dropped them into the snow below him. Once he was satisfied, he pulled himself off of the tree with a grunt and gently picked up all of the bark in between his teeth. He looked around again, as if something were to stand out to him. It was only then did he see where the snow was stirring, almost like whatever lied beneath it was shivering violently. As he slowly drew closer, he spoke out once more, softly around the bark in his teeth, as not to scare whatever creature lied beneath.

The mare kept as still as she could, but she looked more like a shaking statue. Audits trying to focus on the sounds of nearing steps. Toning in on the sound she heard this almost bone wrentching like a stripping and crunching sound as if a wolf had begun tearing dried skin off a decaying carcass. It sent a horrid chill up her spine. Did she dare look...? Peaking out and daring to look into the night with one blue hue. Her pupils seemed to widen with fear, audits stiffly perked in alert. She saw a very tall dark shadow looking as if it was trying to climb a tree but she couldn't make it's shape out enough to know what it was persay, all she knew is, it scared her. She gulped hard as she slowly moved her head lower to the snow, trying not to look at what was lurking right next to her.

Then off a sudden, a huge pile of snow fallen right onto her from a higher up branch, covering her poor frame. She let out a groan and a small sneeze. Shaking her frame as the snow fall off her. She felt a bit dizzy from the shaking, perking her head up quick wondering where the shadow creature went. Audits perked as she looked around frantically, 'oh no... it heard me' she thought, fear still rising in her as she thought it be best to escape while she could, audits flicked hearing a low call. 'what was that?' Nostrils flared to try and take in a scent but couldn't smell anything. The voice seemed quiet and welcoming... maybe too welcoming she thought. Didn't much matter either way, she was on her death bed, what else did she have. Holding her breathe for a moment, she weakly answered the call "umm.. Hello?" as her blue hues scanned.

Teo's audits were thrusted forward as far as they physically could be, just barely able to make out faint words over the wind. He quickened his steps as he could only imagine the state of the creature underneath so much snow. "Are you alright?" He asked as now stood next the mound. He lowered his large cranium, inhaling the scent of the creature. A horse. His heart jumped at the realization. The last thing he had figured he would discover out here was another horse. What was it mad? How dare a soul try to do anything out in this storm. He breathed in the scent again. A mare. Perhaps she was running from something? "What are you doing out here, dear?" He asked politely, but he couldn't hide the natural worry in his voice that was just his nature.

A high pitched howl screamed out over the wind as the snow seemed to start to fall down harder. His frozen plumage tassels began to sway heaving around his hocks. "Listen, I don't think this storm is going to be letting up anytime soon, there's a cave near by ..." he allowed his voice to trail off, leaving the invitation floating in the air. He figured it wouldn't be difficult for her to accept in such harsh weather, but he was also familiar with the fear his presence presented with mares. Most stallions couldn't be trusted. He sighed, but his audits still fixed on the mare, awaiting to hear her voice again. Part of him hoped that he wasn't finding her too late.
