Zephyr glanced up as a slight commotion erupted. Oof. So maybe Sophia and Blake weren't as rock solid as he thought. He glanced away and walked to his first class. After a couple classes he entered the cafeteria, and after that more classes. The last thing of the day was the first basketball practice. Zeph smiled- time with Pete and a basketball. He changed into his outfit and started the practice, joking around with Peter and shooting hoops. He enjoyed this. No one ridiculed or stared out here- at least he couldn't tell.

Sophia suffered through her next classes. Blake wasn't happy- she could tell. After the final bell rang, she practically ran to the field. "Save me!" She whispered to Izzy, filling ehr in on what had happened. "Oh wow" wa she'd only answer. "So that's why you pushed me yesterday. " Sophia ducked her head. "Sorry"

Zephyr dribbled the ball down the court before shooting a beautiful layup, and the coach called time. He wiped the sweat from his brow and went to change. He had struggled, and survived, another day of school. He stuffed all his gear into his bag and went to leave when Pete stopped him. "You accepted the dare dude. You have to do it." Pete grinned. "Go get em." Zephyr sighed heavily before rolling his eyes. "You're weird." He told Peter before walking outside. There he saw Sophia, just getting off the softball field. She played softball? He never knew that. Then again, he had barely talked to her. This was going to suck man. She would probably laugh in his face and walk away. Well, served Peter right for doing this. Zeph ran a hand through his mussed black hair before walking up. "Hey... Sophia, right?" He asked rather tentatively. "Well, so, the prom is coming up and I was wondering if you'd go with me."

Sophia threw the ball at Izzy, all her confusion from Blake coming out in her throw. Izzy caught it then threw it back. "Ok. Now everyone. Start running. Two laps over the bases and we're done" the coach called, collecting the extra balls off of the field. She ran as fast as she could get her legs to go. Just then she saw a glimpse of Blake going to his car. +he must have just gotten done with wrestling...+ she pushed harder, running over the bases as fast as possible. She passed some of the other girls as they jogged. After her laps, she stopped at the dugout. Sophia decided she was going to go straight home, so she didn't change from her practice pants and shirt. "Bye Izzy" she called as she waved to the girl. Izzy waved back before turning to the locker room. Sophia started walking when Zephyr walked up to her. She stopped when he started talking to... her? He had said her name. Why was he talking to HER? She looked up at him "yes... I'm Sophia..." then hee eyes widened "don't you want to go with Lydia..? Or one of those girls?" She shook her head slightly "I'll think about it." She didn't know what to do. So that was the way it was going to go.

Zephyr rubbed the back of his neck, his tall frame ducked slightly like he was trying to shrink. "We-ell nice to meet you Sophia, and Lydia obviously has no interest in being near me, aaand I don't want to be near another stuck up girl that only cares about herself right now soo.." He answered, looking nothing less than stunned at her words. "Really? - I mean- okay- thanks." The surprise showed clear in his first words, but he offered a weak smile after. "See you.. later then." Zephyr wheeled and walked away, shaking his head slightly. You know, really honestly, he'd love to go with a more sane girl like Sophia, but he didn't want to do it on a dare. No. From this point on it wasn't going to be a dare. Some small part of him wanted to see if she'd say yes, and if she did he would treat it like any other not dare prom - eugh he hated that word - night.

Sophia made her way to her car, swinging her softball bag in next to her backpack. She plopped into the front seat and sat there for a second, thinking. "I'll go. It's weird though. Why me?" She shook her head then drove to her house, running upstairs, changing, then sitting down on her bed to read. She read three chapters of her book before getting a drink then going to bed.

Next day, she pulled on her leggings and a long short, her hair down with a slight curl. She didn't try to dress up. She didn't care. There wasn't a speck of makeup on her face, as always. She walked to her locker, putting her stuff up. How was she going to tell him yes?

Zephyr drove his old truck home. He loved the old Chevrolet Silverado build. His looked like it had drowned in mud and repeatedly gotten washed off, so faded was the paint. He parked it at home and walked inside, going straight to his room as to not have to talk to his parents. Sad he wasn't technically old enough to live away from home. Zeph threw himself into bed the moment he got up there, mentally praying Lydia didn't keep making these big scenes as he slipped into a restful sleep.

The next day he awoke bright and early, before the sun rose. He pulled on dark brown cargo pants, which was surprising since his usual choice was black, and a dark green flannel shirt before running a hand through his hair to smooth it out. Zephyr walked downstairs after grabbing his backpack, deciding he would jog to school today. Yes it would take longer, but it would save money- diesel was darn expensive these days. He should've just gotten a gas truck. He took off early, and by the time he got to the school he had to wipe a bit of sweat off his brow. It was warmer than he would've liked. Zeph shouldered his backpack more evenly and walked into the school, straight to his locker to prepare for his first class.

Sophia grabbed some books and put some back. "Ok" she muttered, walking to her first class. She sat down in her chair as she watched Blake walk past the classroom. She sighed and pulled her backpack closer to her desk. After that class, she didn't even stop by her locker. She needed to get to the art room. She sat down, pulled out her sketchbook and started drawing. Soon the entire page was full of flowers and leaves. Izzy leaned over "wow!" She said. Sophia jumped. "When did you get in here?" She asked. "When class started" Izzy relied with a laugh. After that class, the two walked to the lunchroom. Blake quietly sat at the other end of the table. "Ok. Something is wrong here. Spit it out. One of you" Izzy put her palms down on the table. "The silence is going to murder me. Come on. Someone" Blake stared at Izzy. "No." He said. "I don't even know what I did!" He leaned back and crossed his arms over his chest. "You know what you did! Don't act dumb" Sophia glared at him. "I'm getting food." She stood and walked to the lunch line, grabbing a plate and filling it with food. When she sat back down, Izzy and Blake both scooted to the other side of the table, giving her legs room. She had a tendency to kick when she was mad.

Zephyr sat through his first class, math. He actually wasn't half bad at math in general, but he didn't show it much. After math is was onto history- blech. That was literally painful. Zeph actually was SUPER interested in history, he read history books, learned myths and folklore, everything. If you asked him to name the Greek god of animals and nature he could. (It's Pan xD. I'm super obsessed with mythology, especially Greek) However, the history classes here were BO-RING with capital all letters. After history he woke himself up from the speech induced coma and went out into the hallway, dropping his stuff off before heading to the cafeteria. He hesitated a second as he glanced at Sophia and she looked like a thunderous cloud that just got hit with lightning from a different Thunder cloud, so he went and sat in the back corner again. Per usual, quite a few girls flocked over there, but this time he shooed them away with glares and some words. He swore he was going to start acting physoctic if it meant they would leave him alone. Finally, peacefully sitting alone, Zeph breathed a sigh of relief, went and got his food, and returned to his gloriously empty table to eat.

Sophia forced herself to stay awake. She had to. Her class was boring as crap, but she managed. After the class ended, she grabbed her bags and QUICKLY made her way to the softball field. She warmed up, went through practice, then sat down on a bench. She ducked her head. During practice, she had gotten hit in the chest with a practice fast pitch and the breath was almost knocked out of her. Her hands pressed on her chest as she took deep breaths
