The woman flashed him a happy grin before moving to peck his cheek. "That'd be nice. Take the kids over to see the doctor, too..." she hummed in thought. The old man did love the kids, so he'd be happy to see them and Sage. And she did want to see the queen too... they'd sort of become friends over the years. She looked over at him with a grin when they got to her mothers house, exchanging greetings as they picked up the kids. They soon got home, though... more then happy to be, too.

Sage sort of grinned over at the girl when she kissed him, leaning against her happily. "I'm sure he'd like that," he mused. "They probably would too," he added with a sort of chuckled. The kids were just as fond of the old man as he was of them, which was certainly nice to see. It would be nice to visit him and Anya and Silas too though, who was nearing teenager age by then. It really was amazing to see. They made a rather quick stop at Edith's house, getting the kids and amber, who curled up in his lap contentedly on the way home. They talked long enough to tell them some about their trip and hand off gifts, then they were home. He settled chaos down and checked on all the horses quickly before scooping amber up and plopping down on the couch with a happy grunt.

They got back soon enough, and Mari went to unpack and sort the children out... it was late, so she had them showered, fed and in bed in about two hours. They were definately excited to see the parents, but they'd tired thenselves out pretty quickly. She was still sort of pumped about the holiday, and more then happy to be home, though. She finnished washing up when Sage wandered in, and sort of moved to plop down on his lap once she'd put everything away. "God, I'm glad to be back," she mused softly to the boy before flopping back against the couch.

Sage had wandered back inside to an empty house, which he was admittedly sort of thankful for. He loved the kids, of course, but this was also sort of nice. He grinned over at Mari when she plopped onto his lap and then rolled over onto the couch. He flopped over next to her happily with a sort of chuckle in response to her comment. "It definitely is," he mused lightly. "We had a filly born while we were gone, and lots more on the way," he informed her with a yawn. "Can we go to bed now," he pleaded after a moment, chuckling slightly. It was funny, how driving the carriage for a couple hours and then coming back and making sure everything was all settled wore him out so much, but it did, and he was more than ready to cuddle up with Mari in his own bed.

The girl gave him a small chuckle when he went to flop next to her, pecking his nose happily after his comment. "Thats amazing hun," she chirped to him. It was good... they had quite a few foals due this year, and it was nice that they were coming before winter hit too. She gave a little hum at his next comment before nodding softly and sitting up. "Yeah, come on," she mused, sort of standing up and giving him a hand to pull him up. She wandered upstairs before getting showered and changed before slopping down on the bed as she waited for Sage.

Sage sort of just hummed happily in response to her comment, grinning over at her and bobbing his head up and down in a nod. When she agreed to get to bed, he let her haul him up and off the couch with a grunt, wandering up to their bedroom to wash up and change before moving to crawl up onto the bed next to Mari and flop over right then and there, thoroughly exhausted by then. He wasted no time in curling up next to the girl, wrapping an arm around her waist and tugging her in firmly (but of course gently), burying his nose in her hair, and passing out.

The woman gave a heavy huff of air when the boy wandered down next to her, though went to settle down after a moment. She hummed softly after a little while before sort of burying her nose into his neck before settling down. She fell asleep fairly quickly, really just happy to be back in her own bed... her own home, really. She woke up late the next morning, spread out across the bed and really just quite comfortable.

Sage sort of just grunted sleepily when Mari buried herself into him, but wrapped his arms around her happily before slipping off into sleep. It was certainly nice to be back home, in his own bed again. Their vacation had been wonderful, but he was glad to be back. He woke lazily the next morning, lounging around in bed for a while before getting up and moving to take care of the horses and then mess around in the art room for a while before spending time with his family. The next week or so was rather similar...another foal was born, and they'd settled back into their normal life. His chest had been feeling rather tight for a couple of days, and he found himself running out of breath easier. Coughing loosened it up a bit though, so he wasn't too worried about it. It was annoying, nothing more. So, he hadn't told amri about it, and he sort of hoped she wasn't worried at all. Sure he was coughing here and there, but it wasn't like he was dying or anything.

The next few weeks had passed fairly quickly. It just all seemed so... peaceful. Especially after being away for so long. But she had to admit that she sort of liked the routine of home again. She spent a lot of time doing simple chores... cooking, cleaning, running Silas to school and taking care of Liz. It was simple stuff, but she managed to fill her days up with it. They'd managed to make plans to go to the castle for a couple days at some point, which she was excited for too. She spent a bit of time down at the yard, too... just helping Sage where she could, but in the eventings she did enjoy just relaxing with a book got something on the couch.

Sage was wandering back from a day's work at the barn at the moment, and he slipped into the house to wash up, pecking Mari on the cheek as he passed before washing up and cleaning off a little bit before sliding into the art room. He'd changed into older, comfier clothes, which was normal for him to do so he didn't mess up any good clothes. Besides, pajamas were just comfortable, so why not be comfortable while he was at home painting? He was in there for maybe half an hour before a coughing fit hit him, which was admittedly rather annoying. It was the first time he'd actually had to sit down because of it though, which was slightly worrisome, but after a few minutes it subsided and he tried to catch his breath as best he could, wiping the sweat off his forehead that had accumulated there and resuming painting, with an admittedly slightly shaky hand.
