Rocking, same here. My issue with rewarding myself is it never properly works because why the hell would I not eat the ice cream until I do laundry when I'm an adult and I can just eat it now?
Degrading myself dosnt work because i just want to not be on earth. I have depresion, so i just tell myself that my dad will be dissapointed in me if i dont do SOMETHING that day, and when im done i can have a caramel chocolate truffle. (Im a daddys girl for sure)
Grape, I used to be really messy like that. What helped me tackle it is I moved the clutter until I could see a small clear area of the room and broke things in the room down into piles, brought one pile at a time to deal with (over to the clean area) and went through and decided to get rid of or sort into where it needed to go. It made me feel less overwhelmed and more motivated, like I could actually get things done. It made it so that my brain visually saw progress being done and I felt more relieved. But breaking things down into smaller, more manageable tasks really helps.
Bloody hell that's depressing! I use a "gateway chore" like dishes and then have a crazy manic chore day. I also find that doing lots of laundry makes me more productive as I know I've got a set amount of time while the machine is running to do a task
