Dulcie - my brother is going thru the 'chew on everything' stage with his 7 month old Golden. She's field bred and full of herself.

My biggest gripe against gooden doodle is they tend to be poodle like
And pure poodles are such great dogs
Their foealt is they live to be with you
Most buyers have no ideas what crate training is for until something is chewed
They leave them alone for hours & hours

Fancy - you are very lucky the foal lived.
White x white often results in a dead foal.

Fair enough. My views on ethical breeding differ from most breeders, but thatÂ’s ok!

I'm very active in shutting down puppy mills and the like, so I'm bias when it comes to creating mixed breed dogs.
Too many horror stories.

While I think there are many doodle breeders out there I sincerely think the one we went with was ethical in the sense I believe it to be: loving home, didnÂ’t do it for money, honest, etc. The Mom only had two litters and then was spayed.

What breed was the dam ?

@Vecc, I think she was honest when she said that. When we met the litter he was the most calm at the time so it made sense why she would say that. Her dog was definitely a therapy dog too. She would take her to schools and help kids who struggled with reading.

We've turned people away if we thought they wouldn't be a good 'fit' for our babies.

Some breeders, like politicians, will tell you what they think you want to hear, just to make a sale.

@Vecc, his Mom was a therapy dog so I was hoping he would have the same temperament and I could do therapy work with him too. But, he gets too excited. Out of litter of 10 though his breeder said she thought he was the most likely to become a therapy dog though.

Hello! Welcome to A Poem A Day in May.
Some background info: two of my writing friends came up with this thing we call PADIM, a poem a day in May, and I decided to join in this year since poetry really is not my jam and it's good to push yourself into the discomfort zone every once in a while. The entire premise of PADIM is pretty self-explanatory.
I've decided to post my poems here, because it'll be fun to have them all compiled in one singular place.
If you want to join in, feel free to post your own poems! There's no real rules, outside of HEE rules, I suppose, as anything can be a poem if you turn it upside down.

(The book is Kraken Calling by Aric McBay. It looks good. It seems interesting. My brain will Not focus on it and thus, poem. I guess.)

1. to the book ive been three pages into for the past week

there is an octopus on your cover

and a white flag, waving surrender

and you’re a dazzling debut, i’m sure,

but my attention slips, fractures,

s h a t t e r s

against the open air

and time rushes past like something poetic,

a river perhaps.

so maybe this is my apology,

or my permission,

for not finishing you.

you are a story i’m not ready for

and there is beauty in that

in a white flag, waving surrender

Okay, this poem was SUCH a fun challenge. Is it good? No. Is it different? Kinda. Did it push me as a writer? Hell yes.
