Why is breeding a money sink if you breed horses to start your show string? It dose not say in the help section which needs an overhaul for questions that are not there.
I think a bigger money sink is buying others horses cause despite there ratings most are old or have no training or don't train show well so yeah.

I don't think breeding itself is a money sink but it's more breeding items (glasses, medallions, sevns, etc...) that are considered money sinks.

I personally breed for all my own show stock and while that means it takes longer to generate an income I find that I don't lose money. I have my own stud for each discipline and then outsource to a few that are cheap (usually free!) and have about 20+ foals a year. I do have to wait until those 20 foals reach lvl 4+ and that can take a while, the only ebs put into them are rider fees and hay (but I grow my own hay).

If I relied solely on buying my showing stock I would probably never see a profit. But I do recommend while getting your breeding program started, do buy a few good geldings to help you along!

I wanted to give an update I've got some good horses now but no geldings they still don't do well for me but I have my own breeders so I'm on the right track and I've got money coming in slow but steady.
